About the Program

Introduction
The Delta Phi Omega HQ will introduce the mentoring program and collect mentor and mentee profiles through structured surveys.
Matching Criteria
Mentors and mentees are matched based on shared interests, goals, and relevant skills to support personal, academic, and professional growth.
Initial Connection
Once matched, mentors are expected to initiate contact with their mentee to introduce themselves and establish clear expectations for communication frequency and preferred meeting methods.
Ongoing Engagement
Mentors are expected to maintain consistent communication with their mentee throughout the year and collaborate with national leadership and program sponsors to ensure mentoring activities align with program objectives.

Mentor Information
As a mentor you will help mentees with leadership development through building their confidence, decision-making, and problem solving abilities, while also actively engaging with them through events, community service, and collaborative activities. Mentors will provide life skills education such as event planning, budgeting, and service involvement, and introduce mentees to opportunities in college, future careers, and other areas aligned with their interests.
Overall, we want to provide mentees with a safe and inclusive space for them to feel connected and valued as they navigate towards their future.
Mentee Information
As a mentee in the Destined Orchid Mentorship Program, you are an active participant in your own growth. This program is designed to support you in developing leadership skills, preparing for college, and building confidence—your commitment helps make the experience meaningful and impactful.
Mentees are expected to actively engage in the program by attending monthly meetings, program events, and community service activities, while participating respectfully in discussions, workshops, and group activities. Mentees will work on developing leadership and life skills by building confidence, communication, and decision-making abilities, and learning practical skills such as goal-setting, time management, budgeting, and event planning.
Additionally, you are encouraged to seek guidance on college readiness, applications, scholarships, and career exploration, using the mentoring relationship as a space to ask questions and explore personal interests. Throughout the program, mentees are expected to maintain respectful and consistent communication with their mentor, openly sharing goals, challenges, and progress, and providing advance notice if unable to attend scheduled meetings.
Overall, this program aims to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive community where mentees build positive relationships, feel a sense of belonging, and uphold the values of service, sisterhood, and empowerment as you prepare for your future.
